The goal of the Sinai-Grace Hospital/Wayne State University medicine residency program is to produce excellent internists who are able to utilize their interpersonal skills and knowledge gained in a clinical practice setting. Having a "home base" hospital allows working relationships to develop between resident and faculty physicians. Our program also encourages each resident to accomplish his or her career goals. Rotations and a complete range of fellowship programs are available within the Detroit Medical Center/Wayne State University.
Sinai-Grace Hospital, located in northwest Detroit, offers a uniquely structured, accredited residency program in internal Medicine. Sinai-Grace is a member of The Detroit Medical Center, a comprehensive regional health care delivery system in southeastern Michigan, and a major teaching hospital for Wayne State University School of Medicine.
The quality of our resource base including patients, facilities and faculty is unparalleled in the region. The program offers the flexibility to achieve individual goals while acquiring the depth of knowledge and experience required to successfully pass the American Board of internal Medicine (ABIM) certifying examination.
The department of internal Medicine is the largest department at Sinai-Grace Hospital. There are 24 full-time medical faculty, as well as private attending staff, dedicated to teaching. All subspecialties of internal Medicine are represented. Faculty are available to provide assistance in clinical decision making, career planning and individual counseling. We at Sinai-Grace pride ourselves with our spirit of camaraderie and have an "open door policy" between faculty and residents. We feel this fosters professional as well as personal growth and development.
