Message from Mohamed Siddique, M. D.
Program Director,

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the internal Medicine Residency Program at Wayne State University Northwest Campus. We pride ourselves in our commitment to provide excellence in clinical training for future internist within the guidelines of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and the Residency Review Committee (RRC). A dedicated faculty provide constant supervision and support to our trainees centered around a carefully balanced curriculum. This has enabled us to achieve an outstanding boards pass rate of 100% at the ABIM Certifying Examination in 2001 through 2005.

We have introduced several innovative programs to enhance the quality of training provided at our institution. New recruits receive instruction in the management of a wide variety of medical emergencies during the first 2 months. This is supplemented by a multi-disciplinary medicine rotation that is designed to help new interns learn how to provide quality, cost effective patient care to meet the challenges placed upon today's internist. Constant feedback and guidance is provided by the faculty through a carefully designed advisor-advisee systems that tracks resident performance at frequent intervals. Because of our excellent curriculum and training, the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) has accredited our program for 5 years, with no citations, the best any program can get.

It is our firm belief that adequate exposure to patients with a wide variety of medical conditions supplemented by formal instruction from a dedicated and experienced faculty provide the best environment for self directed learning for our trainees. Service caps and close monitoring of patient census ensure that residents receive the right amount of clinical exposure as specified by the ABIM and RRC. A carefully planned daily conference schedule and board preparation classes supplement patient based clinical teaching.

Our goal is to provide the best possible clinical training in internal medicine by creating an environment that promotes excellence in patient care and academic advancement. This site is designed to provide you with an overview of our program. If you are interested in residency training at our program or need additional information please do not hesitate to contact us at 313-966-4970.

Sincerely,

from Mohamed Siddique, M. D., F.A.C.P

Message from - Chief Medical Residents..

It is our great privilege to welcome all of you to our internal medicine residency program.

After statements from the Chairman, Dr.Siddique and Dr.Bergsman,  we have little left to say about our academic standards, zealous teachers or commitment to providing better training. We would rather give you a personal perspective to doing residency training.

Last year, an applicant asked us a question which we think is the best question anyone has ever asked us about residency. He asked us, “If you were to do my residency again, where would you like to go?” And, we replied to him, “Without a doubt, we would like to come to Sinai-Grace again!”  We are sure that very few residents can say this about their program. This says more than a million words about how we feel about this program.

Sinai-Grace residency program is a rare mix of great academic training with an atmosphere that would help you grow professionally and personally. I can assure you the three years of training at Sinai-grace would make you a proficient, confidant and compassionate physician.

Wishing you best luck in your career,

Chief Medical Residents
